Meet Shannon
A Chicagoland native & self professed theology nerd…
Shannon Schmidt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Catholic Theological Union. In addition to over a decade of experience in youth and pastoral ministry, Shannon has worked as a diversity educator, interfaith ministry leader, and theology teacher. She currently works full-time as the Content Director for TENx10 Youth Ministry Collaborative. She is especially passionate about rethinking the traditional tools and tactics of evangelization, especially through the use of digital media and civic engagement.
When not found at the parish, Shannon enjoys playing sports, reading, writing, cooking, and finding hidden adventures around Illinois. She also serves as a founding member of the Board of Directors for Catholics United for Black Lives, a not-for-profit organization which advocates for policies which combat racism and align authentically with the Catholic faith.
Shannon lives in Chicagoland with her exceedingly patient husband, Eric, and their four beautiful children.
